August 2016: State Fair and Fletcher's Birthday

When I look back at these photos, especially the State Fair photos, it takes my breath away to see how much the kiddos grow and change in just over a year. I've been feeling overwhelmed lately with news of families having trouble, children who are sick, parents who have lost children, and lots of sadness in general. It reinforces living in the moment. I feel so fortunate to have such a beautiful family and to have the experiences we do--the big moments and the quiet moments as well. Below is one of those quiet and innovative moments at home.

Moira and Hannah with our neighbor, Lillian, running their "business" of selling little toys and snow cones

The State Fair tradition continued this year with Aunt Kate and Uncle Scott and the babies coming along as well. We hit all of our favorite highlights: the tractors, the little hands farm, Pioneer Village and the kettle corn, the photography exhibit, and the Midway, of course! We ate well (the dairy barn and whipped Dole pineapple treats were delicious), played hard, and enjoyed the day out with our family.

We love rides this year!

And we love our cousins

We had a great time at the 2016 Indiana State Fair!
A little later on in the month we made our way to the Eli house for Fletcher's third birthday. The girls had a great time with Fletcher and his family, and we loved the mustache-themed photos at the end. We also visited the Elis another time in August, and the kiddos made beautiful music happen in the playroom. It cracks me up to watch the video of them.
