Hannah's last semester of pre-K!

Somehow, seemingly in the blink of an eye, our baby girl Hannah finished out her last year of preschool in typical Hannah fashion--with lots of humor, matter-of-fact statements, inquisitive questions, and so much more. We began her last semester with a family learning day where we looked at the amazing Children's Museum collections, including pieces like the one below-a 17th-century suit of armor featured in the Pirates and Princesses exhibit.

We celebrated the 5th birthday of the Children's Museum preschool with old friends and teachers. It is hard for me to believe that my girls have been there for four of the five years.

During our last family learning day, the Children's Museum preschool featured STEM activities. We had a great time with the girls learning about the difference between liquids and solids, programming a Sphero robot, building a construction project by following a blueprint, and more!

I know this won't come as a shocker to anyone, but the girls loved the new exhibit, Pirates and Princesses, when it opened.

Hannah had quite the year in preschool--she explored how to make cotton candy, created lots of art masterpieces, wrote brilliant books, developed lasting friendships, used her imagination, and so much more.

She really loved going to birthday parties with friends this year, including Grace's party, which was held at Holliday Park. Hannah loved the animal exploration activity where she learned about lots of animals and then touched a turtle, but her favorite event was when she got to go on an Easter Egg hunt.

And last but not least, Hannah's end-of-year preschool celebration was fantastic. I cried and laughed and marveled at how much she had grown over the course of the last two years. You should really take the time to watch her act out her portion of the book The Day the Crayons Quit (https://youtu.be/dNxXTCUNQZA) as well as the Wavin' Flag song (https://youtu.be/kojLBS1UTCA) adapted from K'naan's original lyrics (he is a Somalian poet). The preschool teachers rewrote the lyrics to summarize the children's experience

Mr. Wurthmann--so amazing with all of the children!

And, then it was upon us, the end of an era at the Children's Museum. Words cannot express how privileged we feel to have had the opportunity to send our girls to the Children's Museum to begin what we hope is a lifelong love affair with learning that is "Hands on. Worlds open."
