Easter Activities!

We had another great year celebrating Easter in a multitude of ways with many of our family and friends. We engaged in indoor and outdoor Easter egg hunts, a fun adventure to Maggiano's with Prov and some of her family, dyeing and painting Easter eggs, and celebrating Easter with family.

Our big Easter egg hunt this year was indoors at Castleton United Methodist church. I missed going to the Irvington and Broad Ripple hunts outside, but the children did not seem to mind. And the weather was quite soggy if I remember correctly.  Julian and Fletcher came along for the adventure, and they were able to pet bunnies, hunt loads and loads of Easter eggs, and play!

There were bunnies to pet this year!

Hannah loved it. Moira was more cautious.

Moira preferred to pet the bunny rather than hold the bunny!

Love this photo--Sarah was chasing Fletcher no doubt.

Grandma and Grandpa came along for the ride
Dyeing eggs at Grandma's has become an annual tradition. The girls are getting more sophisticated with each passing year. This year, they painted all of the eggs to give them a metallic sheen. I was impressed with how they turned out!

We tried something new this year. Prov invited us to Maggiano's for a kids' cooking class with a visit from the Easter bunny. We learned how to make lasagna and enjoyed a fantastic Easter brunch as well. Aunt Kate also stopped by with the babies to meet the Easter bunny. I always think the Easter bunny looks a bit scary when her mouth is open (like this Easter bunny), but maybe it is just me?!

Hannah did not like being messy!

We made it to church for Easter  (it is always a whirlwind trying to get there in a timely fashion). The mass was lovely, and it was nice to celebrate with Aunt Kate and Uncle Scott. I think we left Hannah behind at Grandma's. I cannot remember why, though!

We had a great time celebrating Easter with my dad's family. Aunt Sandy, Uncle John, Sarah, Emily, and Ashlyn as well as Les and Linda. Grandma and Grandpa made a yummy ham, and we had a nice family dinner. We also had fun doing an Easter Egg hunt in Grandma's back yard, and the girls loved playing with Ashlyn. She made chalk drawings of both of the girls!

Last but certainly not least, we celebrated a belated Easter egg hunt in our neighborhood. Since Easter fell this year right around spring break, it made sense to wait until later to ensure all of the neighborhood kids would be around. A funny memory for me this year was that Hannah and another little girl, Aubrey, who lives just up the street were very, very patient in waiting for their number to be called in the cake walk. Hannah was the last one to win...thank goodness they had enough cupcakes to go around!
