Fourth of July
The girls were very excited to celebrate "America's birthday," and this year we decided to go downtown to the canal to find a good vantage point to watch the fireworks that would also allow us to have a relatively quick exit at the end of the night.

We found a lovely spot where we set up our blankets and lawn chairs for the evening, and the girls made friends with everyone around us. We noticed that the people next to us were eating some yummy food from a new place on the canal, so we managed to get some take-out as well before the fireworks started.
Finally, the fireworks began, and the photos below show the excitement of the girls (and the new friend that they made). The video below (or via this link) captures the build-up to the fireworks and the fun that they had.
Afterwards, we were able to make a quick exit, and as you can see below, the girls were completely exhausted!
