Christmas Eve and Morning!

It was a pretty special Christmas this year. Moira and Hannah were at fantastic ages to celebrate the season. Moira understands the meaning of Christmas (both religious and secular), and Hannah just feeds off of Moira's excitement. As is tradition, we went to church on Christmas Eve and then went back to my parents' house for their annual party. This year, there were lots of new babies on the scene, and it's fun to think that a new generation of children are getting used to traditions that I grew up with as a child.

After the party, Hannah fell asleep on the way home, but Moira was very excited to put out cookies and milk for Santa Claus.

The next morning, the girls woke up, came downstairs, and literally squealed with delight when they saw their dolls and the castle. They were so surprised and so excited.

As the morning continued to unfold, Grandma and Grandpa as well as Aunt Kate and Uncle Scott came over for breakfast and to open presents together. Our breakfast started off with Christmas crackers, complete with crowns (even Alan put one on) and corny jokes, and afterwards, we had a lazy morning and afternoon opening presents and playing with everything. I think I even managed to take a nap...

At the end of the day, we went to Benihana's to celebrate my birthday with our family. The girls love the theatrics (so do I), and the food was delicious. It was a lovely day.
