Devon VII: Dawlish and Newton Abbot

We had a delightful time visiting Alan's grandmothers in Dawlish on a few separate occasions. During one of the visits, we went to Great-Nan in her home and were also fortunate to see Alan's Aunt Heather. It was fun to watch Great-Nan playing with the girls, reading, and singing songs. Afterwards, the girls had a lovely time walking along the canal, seeing the "famous" black swans of Dawlish, and playing with their Nan and Grandad while I looked for gifts in one of the local shops.

During another short day trip down to Newton Abbot to run a few errands, we took a happy detour to visit the old clock tower in the center of Newton Abbot. The girls were fascinated by the street musicians, the old stocks, and Moira was very brave and walked all the way to the top of the tower to see the bells.
