Devon III: Beaches
The first full day we were in the U.K., we visited Shaldon Beach (Ness Cove, I think). I love the red rocks and sand, and I will not soon forget Hannah's reaction to the cold sea water touching her toes.
A few days later while all of the men were in Wales, the ladies went to Dawlish Warren. This beach is a bit more sandy, and the girls had a delightful time building sandcastles. When the men returned, they wanted to visit Dawlish Warren as well, so we found another time to visit again--this time it was closer to dusk. Both visits were beautiful.
Moira really wanted to ride on a doubledecker bus, so we decided to ride from Newton Abbot to Teignmouth. It was a really hot day, so the bus was quite warm. But the girls enjoyed the bus ride on the whole. Hannah enjoyed it so much that she threw an epic temper tantrum when we got off the bus.
Fortunately, Teignmouth Beach is quite close, and Hannah cheered up when she saw the water. Moira had a fantastic time at the playground and jumping on the hydraulic trampoline, and both of the girls liked paddling in the water.
