Celebrating Fathers and Milestones

Father's Day weekend was an interesting one for Alan. Because he still works one day every weekend, we celebrated his Father's Day on Saturday. And you know, it is abundantly obvious to me how much he loves his girls and they love him. Why? Well, on the day before Father's Day, we took the girls to see an Indians game with me, and he doesn't even like baseball. Then, he went to work for 10 hours on Father's Day, and he took the time that morning to hang out with the girls and get excited with them about the presents they had made for him. In other words, he didn't really have much of a Father's Day, and he didn't complain at all.

The girls made him, Grandpa, and Uncle Scott presents at the local pottery place. Sarah, Julian, and Fletcher joined us as well, and we had a very successful afternoon. The morning of Father's Day, the girls and I made Alan breakfast and gave him his gifts that we made. Moira was super excited to give Alan her gift--a guitar picture frame that she painted herself. She asks me all the time when we're going to put a new photo in the frame she made. Oh, and there's also a photo of the girls at the aforementioned Indians game. I had to include it because I know that it wasn't at the top of Alan's list of things to do, but he had a good time and so did our adorable daughters!

After Alan went to work, we met up with my dad, mom and sister to go to the Art Museum. Dad never tires of the art museum, and Uncle Scott did a great job of capturing our daughters at ages 3 and 5.5. I feel so very fortunate to have my father play such an integral role in my life and the lives of his grandchildren, and it is evident in the photos that follow how much we all love him and admire him. Happy Belated Father's Day, dad!
