Celebrating Hannah's Special Day

On the morning of Hannah's actual birthday, we greeted her with a special breakfast and another birthday song, and then I took both of them off to preschool. They were very excited to have our little family together on a weekday. For more on how we celebrated Hannah's birthday (both the party and her special day), check out the video below or click the link here.

The girls wanted me to do closeups of them while at school, so I happily obliged.

We picked them up from preschool and went to Ellenberger Park to have a picnic, play at the playground, and fly a kite. Moira and Hannah were fascinated with a kite that Grandma had bought for them at the Children's Museum in honor of the new China exhibit, and they'd been asking for days to go fly a kite. Alan did a great job of showing the girls the fun they could have flying and chasing after a kite!

Afterwards, we played at the playground, and Hannah stayed in the swing for a very, very long time (it is her favorite place to be). And then we topped it off with an adventure to the Build-A-Bear workshop where Hannah built her very own "kitty cat" and Moira benefited from Hannah's birthday by building a new bear herself. Aunt Kate came along for the ride, which seemed all too appropriate since she still loves stuffed animals almost as much as my children seem to. It was a lovely day celebrating Hannah's third birthday.
