December is a busy birthday month for our extended family. Between Alan's family and mine, we celebrate a total of six birthdays in December! This reality combined with the hectic holiday schedules of two little ones leads to simple birthday celebrations for both Alan and me. Truthfully, Alan's was simpler than mine (but that's the way he likes it). We celebrated with cupcakes, gifts from the girls, and of course singing happy birthday. My favorite part of the evening was that Hannah wanted her own "celebration" after we had finishing singing to her dad. So, we obliged.

Just a couple of days later, we went to the YMCA for Moira and Hannah's annual preschool Christmas Program. It was Hannah's first time, and she was so adorable--in no small part because she was pretty bewildered by the experience. Meanwhile, Moira is an old pro at these Christmas programs, and she owned it. Today when I was putting together the video, Hannah came up and started singing "Jingle Bells," which warmed my heart.

Santa made an appearance at the end of the Christmas program. Hannah was very wary of Santa this year, but she was fairly receptive to him at this event. Moira is at the age where she'll hang out with Santa every chance she can get. I just wish that she would have settled on one gift that she wants Santa to bring to her. She kept changing her mind!
