November Highlights!

It probably seems like a bit of a cliche at this point, but November truly did go by in a flash. Below are some of the highlights.

Children's Museum Family Learning Day. Alan and I took the girls to one of the three Family Learning days that the preschool sponsors. The theme was Early Literacy. We had a "tour" of the "tomb" of a Pharaoh where we learned all about hieroglyphics. Then, we played games with the girls to help them with their reading skills. What was most amazing to both of us was that Moira was very eager to answer any question posed by her teacher. That was new for us, and it was exciting to see how much she's grown this year in her preschool.

Moira's starting to like showers better than baths, and she is really into her new bathrobe! She now routinely asks me to take photos of her, and below is one of those moments!

We went to Cincinnati to celebrate Ruby's 5th birthday! It also involved a trip to IKEA for our new house that ran a bit long (it's just impossible to get out of IKEA), and we ended up arriving at the party late. It turns out that this seemed to work out well (although I felt terrible) because Moira and Ruby were able to hang out afterwards at the gym where Katy works. We even hung out at Katy's house much later than we expected because of inclement weather, and the girls played even more. It was so much fun.

Moira and Hannah have also been busy with playdates with friends and gymnastics as you can see below.

Grandpa's birthday. As is usually the case, we celebrated Grandpa's birthday at his house this year. The girls are both very excited about celebrating birthdays right now--as you can see from the pictures below. It seems as though they make Grandpa pretty excited about celebrating his birthday too ;)

As Thanksgiving approached, Moira got a head start on her holiday decorating by doing a gingerbread house with Grandma and Linda. She was very proud of her work! The girls also celebrated Thanksgiving together at the YMCA preschool, and they had a lot of fun celebrating Thanksgiving with our extended family as well. The highlight, perhaps unsurprisingly, was celebrating another birthday--Uncle Sock's this time. Aunt Kate made him an awesome cake, and Moira (and Uncle Mike) were excited to blow out the candles.

Last, but certainly not least, is a beautiful photo of our two girls. It makes me smile every time I see this photo, so I thought you should see it too! On to December festivities...
