Apple Orchard Adventures

It may seem to the handful of family and friends who follow this blog that we will never leave October 2013! I must admit that it has been an incredibly busy month or two ~ additional responsibilities at my job, lots of family and friends visiting, getting settled in our new house (and experiencing the trials and tribulations of moving into an older home), and more. Nonetheless, I will persevere, and hopefully our family and friends (especially those whom we rarely see) will see an uptick in the number of blog postings over the next few days.

So, harking back to mid-October, my brother's family was still visiting, and we all went to the Pleasantview apple orchard on a bright Sunday afternoon. The weather was gorgeous, the apple slushies were delicious, and the pumpkin patch hay ride was fun too.

Our best attempt at getting all of the cousins together!
Hannah loved the swing set at the apple orchard. Everyone took turns pushing her, as you can see in the next few photos!

We all went for a walk seeking out the best apples. By the time we were looking for apples, the season was well underway, and I honestly cannot remember which type we picked. All I know is that everyone had a lot of fun looking for apples, and Uncle Sock and Aunt Kate played hard with all of their nieces and nephews.

We then went on a hayride to the pumpkin patch, which was a good deal of fun for everyone. We ended up just looking around at all of the pumpkins (Phoenix would be a long way for the Lukens to haul a pumpkin or two), but it was a very fun way to spend the afternoon with our family.

At the pumpkin patch, the girls had so much fun picking out their favorite pumpkins, and their cousins had fun too. We were only there for a few minutes before we returned on the hay ride and took a few more snapshots before heading home for one more family dinner before the Lukens left the next morning for home. What a wonderful time we had with them on their fall break!
