Nan and Grandad visit!

We were all very excited about Nan and Grandad's visit. We felt very fortunate that we had moved into our new house by the time Nan and Grandad arrived. They had a smooth transatlantic flight, and they arrived late in the evening on a Friday.

The following morning we had a quick trip down memory lane by looking at some old photos with the girls, and then we headed to the playground.

Nan has so much fun with her granddaughters. They had so much fun playing with her at the playground.

When we returned to our house and after lunch and a quick nap, Nan and Grandad gave the girls a few presents from our family in England. The girls were completely enamored with each new prezzie they opened. Hannah would breathe in sharply and then say "oooh!" every time.

As our first week with Nan and Grandad passed, we found ourselves getting into a bit of a routine. Nan would help the girls get dressed in the morning, and Moira insisted that Nan do braids in her hair every day. Nan also helped us with dinner, baths, and bedtime routines.

Grandad, perhaps unsurprisingly, spent a great deal of time in our new back garden. He worked very hard to tidy up a number of different plants and trees that had become quite overgrown. Whenever we wondered where Grandad was, we knew we would be able to find him in our screened-in porch.

Nan and Grandad were quite happy to take walks to the local shops or just around our neighborhood. Hannah was very excited to try out her new tricycle that Nan could push along, so we enjoyed a few bike rides in the neighborhood while Nan and Grandad were here.

Here are some other photos of our first week together with Nan and Grandad. They really did just weave themselves seamlessly into the fabric of our everyday lives. By the time it was time for them to go to Denver to visit Alan's brother and sister-in-law, we were quite sad to see them go.
