Social Butterflies

Rarely does a weekend go by where Moira and Hannah don't have the opportunity to interact with their extended family or friends. They are both social butterflies, and it warms my heart to watch them interact so well with everyone...and in a variety of different situations.

While Moira was busy sledding (see the previous post), Hannah took a nap and awoke to find that Maxwell Devine had come for a visit. He and Hannah were born about a month apart, and we are always excited when the Devine family stops by a for a visit. Here are a few photos from their time together.

A few days later, it was time to celebrate Mom's birthday. Because she had been sick over Christmas, we also finally celebrated our family Christmas as well. The girls were very excited to have yet another opportunity to open a few more gifts (it never seems to get old for them).

Afterwards, Kate took Mom to the Colts game, and then everyone met at our traditional spot--St. Elmo's Steakhouse. The girls were both so good in the restaurant, and even when they became squirmy near the end, it didn't matter because they would just rotate from one lap to another! They had a great time, which, in turn, meant that the rest of us had a lovely time as well.

A random photo, I know, but Moira made this Gingerbread House!!

A couple weeks later, we asked Uncle Scott and Aunt Kate to come over and watch the Colts playoff game. Both Moira and Hannah were excited to spend some time with their Aunt and Uncle.

She's so proud of herself (I love the skirt she decided to wear)!

The Hamilton-Lowes stopped by for a quick visit in January after a whirlwind trip to Disney World over the holidays. Hadley is officially the most social of all the children I know--I'm convinced he doesn't meet a stranger. He, Julian, and Moira had a fabulous time playing at our house. They made Hannah the "official" monster of the group, and they pretended to run away from her for at least 20 minutes. Afterwards, all three of the older kids disappeared upstairs, and when they eventually reappeared--both of the boys were half-dressed (at best) because they were trying to play "dress-up" with all of Moira's costumes. Moira exclaimed: "I told them to leave their underwear on, but they wouldn't listen!!" It was priceless. Below is a photo of Hadley and Moira once Hadley had figured out how to dress up properly...in a Tinkerbell costume!

So many of Moira's friends have birthdays in January, which makes it all the more fun for her as she celebrates. Her friend, Julian, turned three this year, and she was so excited to celebrate his birthday with him. They are both so sweet together, and it was an extra added bonus that Hadley was in (again!) from California to celebrate. As you can see below, they all stopped to say "cheese" for the camera for just a millisecond.

Moira also got to go to a birthday party for her friend, Mylos, from the Children's museum preschool. He had an art party, and it was very cute to see her interact with all of her preschool friends. They had so much fun at the Holliday Park Nature Center--it's a great place to have a kid's birthday party.

And then there's Claire Charlton. Moira has so much fun with Claire--if only they could see each other more. We went to Disney on Ice with Claire and her mom, and they had a great time together. When I asked Moira afterwards what her favorite part of the show was, she said "Tinker Bell...no...the Cowboy...no the Cars!" She couldn't decide, which just says to me that Moira had a ton of fun. I can't wait until I can take both girls with me!

Last, but certainly not least, some of our family from West Virginia came into town, and we met them for lunch. Moira loves Sarah Luken (she lived at my parents' house briefly when Moira was littler, thus they became close buddies), and as you can see below, she's so close to Sarah that she wanted to share her scarf! Too cute.

What else can I say? We feel so very fortunate to have so many wonderful friends and family in our lives. More to come soon!
