Trick or Treating in St. Louis and Indy

One week after we arrived back from Virginia, we headed to St. Louis for the weekend to visit my cousin, Marty and his growing family. We hadn't yet met Hunter, their newest addition.

 Our trip to St. Louis was very quick, but the kids had a great time together. When we arrived, Moira and Connor played together a bit and then we celebrated Moira's birthday (again). The next morning, the kids went to the park and had an awesome time playing together.

And then it was time to get ready to go trick-or-treating at all of the shops in the area where Marty's family lives. Moira refused to wear a jacket because princesses don't wear jackets. It turns out that princesses also seem to like Dobber the dog...it used to be that Moira had a love/hate relationship with Dobber :)

Moira had a great time trick-or-treating this year, and she really enjoyed the playground as well. It was so funny to watch her going down slides and running around with such a beautiful dress (and "princess heels"). She didn't let anything stop her--not the cold, the shoes--nothing.

After our quick visit to St. Louis, Moira and Hannah celebrated Halloween by visiting the Children's Musuem's Haunted House (when the lights were on) with Grandma. They were fascinated with the experience and went through mulitple times--thanks to Grandma.


And finally, on Halloween, we continued our tradition of trick-or-treating with the Charltons. We stopped by for a quick visit with Grandma first, and then we headed up to their house. The girls had a great time trick-or-treating with Jack and Claire (and subsequently playing and eating lots of candy), and we had a great time catching up with our friends over dinner and drinks.

I am still playing catch-up from all the photos we took over the holidays, and I have a few random ones that I want to share! Here they are: Moira's first official haircut. She was so good. I wasn't sure she would sit still, but she did. The stylist did a great job of keeping her entertained! Moira walking around in her "shoes." Moira is fascinated with shoes. She loves taking our shoes on and off. And she loves walking around in adult shoes. We went to the Eiteljorg on Martin Luther King day and Moira had fun exploring the Wild Wild West. You may recall that Moira's 2nd birthday party was pretty entertaining because Moira fell asleep in her high chair, and then she was completely overwhelmed by everyone singing Happy Birthday. Since then, we have had lots of family and friend birthdays, and she has mastered singing Happy Birthday. To Hannah, With Love

Hannah, You, my darling baby girl, are growing up entirely too fast. Time flies!

It's hard to believe Moira is already 5 weeks old (today)! Here 's a quick recap: October 14th, 9:32am, Moira Joan Mackintosh came into the world. She was a healthy 7 lb, 14 oz, and 20.5 inches long. My labor was fast, but delivery was slower than I would have liked. On the whole, neither Moira nor I can complain . October 16th, we came home. I discovered after a couple of sleepless nights that Moira would only sleep for about 15 minutes in her bassinet. She preferred sleeping on someone or sleeping in her little swing. The first few weeks went by in a complete blur. We were all trying to get used to a new kind of normal. Moira and I spent a lot of time trying to figure out her preferences for eating and sleeping. Alan spent a lot of time trying to help his girls get as comfy as possible. We've had fun discovering the little things about Moira. She has dimples and so much dark hair.
