Happy Birthday Moira!

How does a busy working mom with two little ones figure out how to make her 4-year-old's birthday a memorable one? What's that old saying about when in Rome do as the Romans do? Well, when you're 4, it turns out a lot of 4-year-olds like Chuck E Cheese! Originally, we'd planned on a trip to the Zoo in our Halloween costumes, but the weather was not very agreeable.

We started off the day quietly at our house. Moira woke up, and we kicked off the day by singing "Happy Birthday" at breakfast. Then she opened a few gifts, especially from our family in England. Here are a couple photos and a video capturing the moment.

Then, in the late afternoon, we arrived at Chuck E Cheese. We asked just a few friends to come along, and they all had a great time playing together amongst all of the games.

We managed to gather all of the kids together for pizza and presents. Moira had a great time getting "crowned," and she loved opening all of her presents. Aunt Kate made her a beautiful princess cake as well, and the chocolate cupcakes were truly delicious. The moment, though, that I will always remember was going in the ticket blaster with Moira. You have to watch the video to understand the delight that it brought to her. All in all, despite the craziness that is Chuck E Cheese, it was a success for the kids, and the adults survived!

Hannah was so tired the entire evening. It's a good thing she had Aunt Kate and Uncle Sock to keep her company. Here are a couple of cute pictures!
