Back to the beginning of April!

It has been a busy month! I have to try to play catch-up because all of a sudden we've had Kate's birthday, Easter festivities, and a trip to Virginia occur in a matter of weeks! Just when I think I've caught up on the blog...

So, rewind in your minds to the beginning of April. The weather in Indy was fantastic. Our favorite kind of weather--cool in the morning and perfect during the day!  On Aunt Kate's birthday weekend, we all gathered at Grandma's house (as we usually do on Sundays), and we kicked off the day by decorating eggs.

I distinctly remember the last two years when we've decorated eggs with Moira. It was like living on the edge--mommy style--enjoying the moment and at the same time hoping that 9 cups of colored water and vinegar didn't end up on the floor! Well, this year was a different story. Moira's so much more capable of doing the decorating all on her own. In fact, there's not much that our independent little girl wants us to help her with anymore :)

Moira and Aunt Kate!
As I mentioned, the weather was beautiful. Moira loves being outside (she has even wandered off at Grandma's on occassion--much to our chagrin). Unlike all the boys in her life, she is quite tentative and cautious with her wheels. She loves her trike but is definitely not interested in moving to two wheels, just yet!

Going for a walk and a ride!
Aunt Kate's birthday is on April 1 (no it's not a practical joke--it's the truth!). She normally makes all of us a cake on our birthdays, so we decided to repay her by picking up a lovely cake from the Heidelberg Cafe. Moira was very excited to open gifts (she takes a sharp intake of breath every time a present is opened), and even more excited to blow out the candles...as is evidenced below.

Aunt Kate's Cake...

It only took them a few tries to blow out the candles!

After Aunt Kate's birthday, the girls just relaxed around Grandma and Grandpa's house. It was a nice, uneventful day at the house.
Moira loves the iPad.

They both love playing the piano...

And Hannah is getting more and more curious and inquisitive!
