Labor Day Reunion

It's hard to believe Labor Day has come and gone, but we celebrated the end of summer in grand fashion because all of my oldest friends came into town to see Lauren and her new baby, Max. He was born about a month after Hannah, and it was his first trip back to his parents' hometown.

As much of the crew as we could gather at my mom's!
We kicked off the weekend with my first ever trip to Rivi--a swim club in the Meridian Kessler area. I met Sarah and Julian as well as Ann Marie (Sarah's sister-in-law) and her children. We had a great time playing in the baby pool--although Moira was still very hesitant in the water.

The next day we met Kathryn and Sarah and families at a splash park and playground, and the children had a great time all over again. Moira cozied right up to all the grandparents that were there, and she had great fun with a bucket that we found. She and Evan would place the bucket over a spot were the water would spray out, and they would wait anxiously for the water to spray. Once it did, the bucket would get knocked over, and they thought it was the funniest thing!

And then on Sunday, everyone gathered at my mom's house for our impromptu reunion. The only person missing from our group was Angie, which is pretty amazing since this all came together just a month or so earlier. With nine children aged 4 and under running around, you can imagine how hectic things were. But the weather was great, and we brought out the bouncy house, all the bikes and trikes, and the kids had a great time playing together on the whole.

We even managed to have enough time to corner Lauren and ask her about her labor and delivery "experience" and how she was adjusting to being a new mom. And after some of our friends had to leave to get their kids a nap, we even had a chance for Max and Hannah to have some quality time together! They were so cute!
