Halloween Bumblebee!

Moira had a fabulous Halloween weekend. It started with a trip to the Irvington Halloween festival with Uncle Gav, Daddy, and Grandma and Grandpa. She gathered some candy, jumped in a bouncy house, watched a magic show, and had fun running around in her costume. Uncle Gav taught her how to say "Trick or Treat, Trick or Treat, give me something good to eat!" Of course, she would only really say it to us, not to anyone she approached.

After Moira's nap (and Gavin's departure back to Denver before heading home to Devon), we went to Southeastway Park for a hayride adventure. Some of mom's close friends from church organized the evening, and it was lots of fun. My mom's sister and brother-and-law (Grandma Jean and Grandpa Joe) made an appearance at the event too as they were in Indy for a brief visit. Moira had a great time running around the park with the other children and with Grandma Jean chasing her. She also had her first taste of S'Mores (which really means she ended up with marshmallow and chocolate all over her face). And, of course, the hayride was a definite highlight, as you can tell from the photo below. It was a lot of fun.

On Halloween evening, we went to my friend Emily's house to go trick-or-treating with her children, Jack and Claire. Jack was very excited about all the candy he was planning to score, and Moira and Claire were inseparable. Claire, who is just about a year older than Moira, held Moira's hand almost the whole time, which translates to dragging Moira around a bit (there were many times when Emily and I winced b/c we thought Moira would take a tumble), and Moira loved every second of it. She was a little hesitant to go up to people and ask for candy, but she followed Jack's lead and got the hang of it pretty fast.

After we returned to the house, we had pizza and candy (of course). Moira and Claire had fun answering the door for other trick-or-treaters, and Moira also enjoyed digging into the candy bowl (as you can see below). The kids had a great time, and so did we.
