Grandparents, Thanksgiving, Baptism, oh my!

It has been a whirlwind of activity over the last couple of weeks. Alan's parents stayed with us for two weeks (they left a week ago today and we're still mourning their departure). They were a huge help to us around the house, and they also had a lot of fun getting to know their first granddaughter. We went on a few outings--a nice walk around the canal on a bright, crisp fall day, a Colts game, the art museum, shopping, and more--but the majority of the time we just stayed close to home. It was a real comfort to have them stay with us, and we all miss them terribly! We can't wait for them to come back.

Right after Gordon and Lyn left, we moved into holiday mode with a very busy weekend. Moira is now almost 7 weeks old, and she is definitely getting more active and acclimated to the outside world. She did really well with all of our family activities--Thanksgiving and her baptism--and Alan and I both enjoyed the busy weekend too. It was wonderful to see our family and have everyone meet Moira. Fun fact about the baptism: the dress she wore is over 100 years old, and my grandfather, mother, and I all wore it before Moira at our baptisms (along with a lot of other family members). Pretty amazing heirloom, isn't it?

Until next time...
